How about a green air-purifying grass wall in your apartment? Believe it or not, it’s possible without having a mess thank to these grass panels from Argentinean company Ustatic. The “Wall Grass” is a system of grass rectangular panels, which function with a structural substrate, a humidity retainer substrate with small conducts that warrantee the homogeneous distribution of water in the entire surface, and a basement formed by the grass’ roots, which add support. The grass can be used for decoration or as an alternative for small spaces without a backyard, and is supposed to have the same sir purifying qualities than regular grass. Though it’s still a prototype, the product is actually being produced next year in Argentina, and will probably be available for exportation. The company has even some distributors defined, so those interested can get in touch with them through their website. On the other hand, for all of you who are willing to take the treehugging a little further, the company has also an air-purifying suit planning to be developed in the next year. Details, in treehugger

i love it
Ah yes tree hugging another ‘Usefull’ product which i can add to my eco house project
This is very interesting and all, but frankly, you would have to have lost your mind to put GRASS on your wall! I understand putting it on the floor if you don’t have a yard, but your WALL?!?!?!?!? I just don’t understand some people. Some of the people who come up with these things should be sent to a mad house, in my opinion of course. If you read this and thought about buying a grass wall when it comes out, you should reconsider. Yeah, there’s a lot of benefits, but you’re only being shown the pros. What about the cons? What could go wrong if I bought this stuff? Would there be dirt all over my floor? Would I have bugs living on my wall? Would I have to mow my wall? There are these questions and so many more that these people don’t show the answers to. If this was ARTIFICIAL grass though, that’s another story…
this is weird and kinda scary!!!!! y do u want a wall of grass…?? would’nt bugs b attracted 2 it???? i mean… i dont like bugs and i dont want them in my house or apartment!!!!!
While a grass wall seems innovative and the plant-sustaining parts sound interesting, I’m curious as to why other plant species weren’t used. Ivy and other climbing plants would do much better in the vertical ‘wall’ sort of area. (Although the growth of these plants presents its own problem)
